This is the traditional weight section of our website. The weights shown here are made using age old techniques relative to historic South Jersey design themes. In the pieces shown below, we have tried to renew interest in the historic value of glass paperweights that were produced in Millville and Vineland, NJ  in the early 1900's. The ability to make a crimped rose weight, and add something new to the presentation has always been an elusive pursuit for us. We hope that you enjoy them.

The weight on the left is a rose with additional lampworked leaves added in the process, and an additional gather to encase them . The right side weight is known as a devil fire design. Local folklore tells us that the weight derives its name from "foxfire" , a phosphorescent glow of burning  swampy areas in the South Jersey pinewoods. These fires were sometimes believed to have been tended by none other than the Jersey Devil.
Among the rose shown to the left, most have 4 leaves at the bottom of the design except for the red one, which has no leaves, and the white one that has three.
